Knockin’ em Back at Thunderbird Coffee Part 1

wires

So this is happening, again.

Got some more feedback, found another sponsor, even had a guest on. Yup.

That jerk from Craft Austin came out and talked and dranked with us.

This Knockin’ em Back brought to you by the rad dudes at Thunderbird Coffee. We were at the Manor Location, also check out the Koenig spot. We love them, they love us, they gave us beer, we talked into our magic podcast machine.

This is a long one. Maybe take it in doses. We meant to break it up into two, but because we talked about so much time sensative data, it wouldn’t have made sense to hear the second part next week.

Golly. Podcasting is hard.

Aside from Aaron/CraftAustin and myself, JIB sat in, Josh/Brad/Little Beard (one of our newest contributors) and Chris (one of the Thunderbird owners) also drank and talked.

Yeah. We talk about SXSW beer stuff (look for a post on this early next week), the Austin Homebrew party, the (512) Spring Open House, Whip-In’s new growler option, the Live Oak Primus and how to pronounce it, the Live Oak Liberation IPA, the Beer Connoisseur Party, and the ManUpTexasBBQ Gettin’ Sauced event.

See why it’s an hour?

This one is a little more tame than the last, but still, not appropriate for Sunday School.

Thanks for listening.

  1. Chris and Company,

Many thanks for the mention. The Saint Arnold beer was a huge attraction and didn’t last long. Frank Mancuso was such a champ and was a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for coming out, Aaron! And thanks for the thought about separating the sauces into more categories. We considered doing so, but we eventually settled on just the 2 categories (bottled and fresh), simply b/c we had so many types of sauces (regular, spicy, peach-based, pecan-based, bourbon, etc.). Instead of having tons of categories, with multiple layers of judging, we just wanted to simplify for the patrons. But…we very well may do it differently next year.

    Cheers,
    MUTB

P.S. Here’s the “Gettin’ Sauced!” page on the blog: http://manuptexasbbq.blogspot.com/search/label/Gettin%20Sauced. Contest results are posted, and tons of pics are on the way.
