Um… I’m a web admin for a state agency. I spend my days knee deep in content management systems and answering questions about social media. I didn’t drink beer until college, and didn’t drink good beer until about five years ago. I’ve been an on and off homebrewer since 2006, my favorite recipe is a dry hopped rye, my default beer is an IPA or rye ale. My beer Degobah was Washington state and my beer Yoda was my corporate AMEX. Besides beer, I like my wife, chess, Apple stuff, music, disc golf, and the Internet.

  • Drink and Write: No.1 Hop in the Dark C.D.A, Deschutes Brewery

Since we decided we weren’t already overwhelmed and understaffed enough, we decided to add a new category. Drink and Write. We drink donated beers, and… er, write about them. Nope, we’re not trained. Yup, I often mistake beer styles. Mmhmm, some of us still refer [...]

  • Thirsty Planet Grand Opening

We were invited out to Thirsty Planet‘s open house back in July (Yikes- this post is tardy. Between Hawaii, babies, jobs, lack of iMovie 08 skillz, and general etcetera-ness we are behind on our video posts) and here is the rundown. Mr. Smittle had all [...]

  • (512) TWO Double IPA and Other New (512) Beers

    (512) Brewing Co celebrate the terrible twos with an exquisite double IPA. Oh happy day. We went out to the brewery the other day to kick the tires and sample some of Mr. Brand’s new wares. The beer’s good. Nice and hoppy, but not over hoppy. [...]

  • Knockin’ ‘em ‘ack at Billy’s on Burnet! The Non-suck Do-over!

Yeah. You can tell we’re desperate for content cause we’re doing these again. Big thanks to Billy’s on Burnet for having us out again. We actually recorded there a few months ago, but we were all out of sorts and it ended up being extremely [...]

  • HomeField Grill Beer Pairing Dinner

Round Rock’s HomeField Grill will be hosting their first ever beer pairing dinner August 19th. Seems like these beer dinners are popping up all over the place these days. Fine by me. Looks like they have a pretty solid line up of beers. I’ve never [...]

  • Sam Adams Tasting/Pairing at Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek Hosted by Bob Cannon

Yikes stripes. This looks pretty great. Some hard to get Sam Adams’ treasures presented by none other than brewmaster extraordinaire, Bob Cannon (the guy in the coveralls wt the huge red beard in the commercials), sounds good to me. It’s this coming Tuesday, the 10th [...]

  • Parkside and Independence ‘summer nights’ Beer Dinner

Couple weeks ago Parkside had us out for their ‘summer nights’ Independence beer dinner. It was pretty swanky. Four courses plus h’orderves. Nice. I’m not a food blogger and I won’t pretend to be. No lie, I was there for the beer, and the food [...]
